The rapid spread of COVID-19 in other parts of the world, and now the United States, is something we are monitoring very closely. I have been in touch with colleagues throughout the US and in Europe, and those conversations helped inform a decision this week that protecting our patients and staff is best accomplished by suspending all patient visits to the practice from March 19th until April 30, 2020. We will send an update if this changes. Changes will be determined by the Governor of North Carolina.
If you have been seen recently and need refills, please request those thorough your pharmacy. If you have other questions, please utilize the patient portal so that we can respond to you in the most efficient manner without playing telephone tag. You may also leave a message on the office voice mail. If you need products please visit our online store store.skinwellnessdermatology.com and they will be shipped to you ( patients of the practice only)
PLEASE NOTE, given the altered schedule, portal messages and voice messages will be returned within 2-3 business days. We recognize the inconvenience this may cause, however, we also recognize the seriousness of this national health crisis. We appreciate your cooperation and patience as we do our best to keep our community healthy. We rely on you to do your part as well with flattening the curve by practicing social distancing.
The ripple effect of the COVID -19 crisis will bring new challenges to all of us which can cause stress. In order to “flatten the curve” of viral spread, we have all been tasked with Social Distancing which can cause isolation and stress. Here are some resources that may be helpful:
- Use reliable sources for your information https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/about/index.html
- Limit news exposure. Non-stop news can be overwhelming and anxiety-provoking.
- Practice Self Care
- Read/journal (gratitude journal)
- write a letter and mail it
- Do a project around the house that you have been putting off
- Check on your elders – call them
- be kind to one another
If you feel you need additional emotional support betterhelp.com is an online counseling service.
We look forward to seeing you all soon. We will get through this!
In health and with gratitude,
Dr. Brooke Jackson and the staff of Skin Wellness Dermatology Associates
